With the theme of “Music of Taiwan” the festival hopes to let the world listen to the voice of Taiwan by the series of different performances and activities.

Taiwan has been the hub of the world trade route since the 17th century, as well as the juncture of the Eastern and Western cultures that make Taiwanese culture a part of the global community. This unique position had made Taiwan a desirable land for different countries and immigrations for past centuries that enriches the creative elements in its own culture.

Music plays an important role in any culture. It tells stories of how a society has transformed and the lives of its people, their love, sorrow, values, perspectives and memories. The National Museum of Taiwan History will present the ordinary lives of Taiwanese people by combining the music and historical scenes from traditional times to modern, to see the changes of affections of the people during the past 100 years.

Karine Guyon | Exhibition SEPTEMBER 7th to OCTOBER 15th

The work of Karine Guyon is inspired as much by an irrevocable past as by ideologies yet to come. Her work blends innovation and experimentation and invites the process of decomposition to orchestrate the encounter between the medium and colours. By observing the decline of the medium, this silent sigh where forms and consistencies begin to lose their definition, the artist seeks to free herself from the constraints imposed by the structure of the canvas. So it is a liberating work, one that also seeks to mitigate the effects of industrialisation, technology and science on our subconscious minds. The artist aims to surpass the limits set in the individual and collective spirit... Not a small undertaking!

OPENING ON SEPTEMBER 8th| 7pm - 9pm | Wine and cheese will be served
